Autumn Carp – Fishing
Despite the fact that the middle of September is characterized by a fairly cool weather, fish appetite is currently at a very high level. And it concerns not only the “multigrade” fish, such as bream and roach, but also heat-loving inhabitants of our reservoirs — carp, crucian carp and tench.
Autumn the behavior of fish changes, as well as forage base, habitat is also shifted to larger depths, but the activity still remains high. This fact makes the autumn fishing for carp is a fascinating and profitable pastime that is liked by all, without exception, the supporters of float and bottom gear.
Where to find it?
Patterns of behavior autumn white fish entirely true for carp. Shallow, heavily overgrown areas in lakes are good for fishing only in the first half of September, when the water has not had time to cool down. Further, the crucian carp, and bream, moves to deeper areas and continues to eat. In this regard, all bodies of water where fishing can be divided into two categories:
• Slow and shallow ponds and small lakes. In such reservoirs the crucian carp is almost always the rightful owner and does not feel food competition from other fish. Since such water bodies can hardly be called deep sea, maximum depth rarely exceeds 2-2,5 meters, to meet the fish can be almost anywhere. In this regard, priority should be given not to the depth and bottom relief — all kinds of edge, areas with rocky and sandy bottom, on which you can successfully catch bottom gear, are a priority. Before starting fishing, you should carefully examine the waters and to draw attention to those areas in which the fish is melted and fed, blowing bubbles from the bottom.
• Large lakes and reservoirs where the carp population is not dominant. Fish coexists with roach, bream, white bream and other species, feed base which is almost identical. This fact significantly complicates targeted fishing for carp in most situations this will be fish only in the by-catch. For carp fishing you should choose a sufficiently deep-water sites adjacent to channel edges and heavily overgrown by aquatic vegetation in the summer. Catch you on the brow and at the top, under irrigation, the shallow section of it. In the autumn there is clearly a dependency: in the daytime to look for fish should be at the bottom of the drop off, the main depth, with the onset of night the greatest number of bites observed in shallow areas or on the upper border of the channel edge. This pattern is valid until the first frost, after which the carp becomes extremely passive and actively bite only in the case when for a few days will set the warm weather.
If you generalize the analysis of both categories of water bodies, it should be noted that the rule “Karasevich trails” in the fall works no less than in summer. It consists in the following: when navigating through a pond in search of food fish, especially large ones, adhere to specific routes-trails. Experienced anglers are catching in a particular water body for a long time, closely observe the fish and know at what time it reaches any place. Such anglers don’t come to the reservoir before dawn and spend the whole day waiting for a bite: a couple of hours fishing at the right time can give catch, comparable to those that will bring daily «duty” at the pond. To detect such paths is incredibly difficult: you will need multiple observations of the pond, with the lucky catches of the fishermen and for the bite of the fish at certain time intervals. Indirect sign of feeding carp can serve as a moving aquatic vegetation, bubbles rising from the bottom, and a unique “thud” sound of a fish feeding in the grass.
To catch her?
With decreasing water temperature in many cyprinid fish observed not only a marked transition to animal food, but also outright predatory inclinations. Is no exception and carp: with the onset of autumn the fish are best responds to all kinds of animals heads, in the avant-garde which are bloodworm, maggot and worm. This “Trinity”, as in self, or in the form of sandwiches, able to stir even the most passive fish. Not to be taken seriously and plant tips — semolina mash and steamed barley yield excellent results even in October and November. We should not forget that carp have a developed sense of smell, and therefore, the aromatic component nozzles must be expressed brightly: garlic, dill, cinnamon, vanilla and many other scents can lead to biting even in the “failure” of the day.
What to feed?
Dark, finely divided mixture of the bait with a lot of bloodworm and chopped worm can not only attract fish, but also to keep her in the point of fishing for a long time. The smell will lure autumn carp, guess it is quite difficult and it can be done only empirically. Experienced caracatite recommend using something neutral that obviously will not scare away the fish: in the favorites of vanilla, caramel and cinnamon.
When it comes to fishing in a small pond, which has never been subjected to strong fishing pressure, the use of ready-made industrial structures, different pronounced aromatics is able to scare off the fish. In such reservoirs it is best fulfills neutral feed to which the fish were accustomed for decades. The best results will show soaked and rubbed through a sieve black bread, mixed with earth from molehills with the addition of 15-20% chopped worm. This bait perfectly fulfills not only the carp, but also for the carp and tench, without drawing attention to the little things.
